NBA’S SPENCER DINWIDDIE AND WNBA’S MONIQUE BILLINGS PARTNER WITH STRIVE AS MEMBERS OF THE ATHLETE ADVISORY BOARD
Bothell, Wash. – November 6, 2022. STRIVE, the only platform proven to optimize muscle performance for elite athletes and teams, continue its growth bringing in additional athletes onto their Athlete Advisory Board to enable strategic decisions as the company grows.
National Basketball Association and Dallas Mavericks player Spencer Dinwiddie joins the Athlete Advisory Board for STRIVE, along with the Women’s National Basketball Association and Atlanta Dream’s Monique Billings. STRIVE, intelligent apparel that measures your muscle strain, providing you with insights to maximize your performance, recover faster, and minimize injury risk, will look to the Athlete Advisory Board members for feedback and perspective as they continue development centered around the athlete.
Dinwiddie first started utilizing STRIVE while training this past off-season with his trainer Mike Guevara and immediately understood how this performance system could benefit him. After setting the record for ACL recovery (torn ACL in 2020), returning to basketball in five and a half months, and going to the Western Conference Finals last season, Dinwiddie was able to learn of some asymmetries in his quad from STRIVE that could have predisposed him from having another potential injury.
“The value of STRIVE was evident from the beginning,” said Dinwiddie. “Even after a long season going to the Western Conference Finals, I learned some asymmetries in my quad firing that actually could have predisposed them to having possibly another injury. But with the STRIVE technology I was actually able to uncover some discrepancies, looking at what we could have done pre-ACL in terms of injury prevention, looking at what it could have done right after surgery, I see how it can help me in all phases for sure.”
Dinwiddie just kicked off his ninth professional season, his second year with the Mavericks. He’s coming off a stellar season in which he helped lead the Mavericks to the Western Conference Finals. Dinwiddie was drafted by the Detroit Pistons in 2014 and following two seasons there, signed a four-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets before ending up in Dallas. Prior to going pro, Dinwiddie was a collegiate basketball standout at the University of Colorado. While at Colorado, Dinwiddie led the team to back to back NCAA Tournament appearances.
Monique Billings is coming off her fifth season in Atlanta after being drafted 15th overall in 2018 by the Atlanta Dream. Billings also boasts international professional experience in countries such as Australia, Russia, Israel, and South Korea. Prior to turning pro, Billings had an impressive collegiate career at UCLA where she ranks first in school history for blocks. Billings will be the first female athlete to join STRIVE’s Athlete Advisory Board.
“We are thrilled to bring Spencer and Monique to our Athlete Advisory Board,” said Nikola Mrvaljevic, founder and CEO of STRIVE. “Being able to get their ideas and viewpoints as athletes will be invaluable to STRIVE’s continued success and development.”
Spencer Dinwiddie and Monique Billings join a line-up of athlete ambassadors and investors, including: NFL Pro Bowlers Jonathan Taylor and Mark Andrews, WNBA All-Star Cheyenne Parker, professional tennis player Giuliana Olmos, professional hockey player Jeremy Brodeur, and NIL athletes Sean Clifford (Penn State), Israel Abanikanda (Pitt), and Gabe Powers (Ohio State).
